The Beat Starts Here is a fee-paying course specially designed for school teachers and community conductors already working with school orchestras, choirs and community ensembles. Delivered by Australian conductors, the development of technical skills is the main focus of this course along with offering podium time with professional ensembles. Due to the number of applicants there is a selection process for the course. We view this course as an essential part of supporting the wider musical community.

Symphony Australia is delighted to welcome back Peter Moore to lead the 2010 program which will be held in Sydney from 27 September to 1 October 2010.
Peter Moore
Peter is the Musical Director at the Western Australian Youth Music Association and an honorary fellow and senior lecturer at the School of Music at the University of Western Australia. He regularly conducts professional orchestras both in Australia and abroad and holds the position of principal bassoon with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra.
